“I started my journey as a passionate, professional classical musician in Toronto, dedicating most of my life to performing. While I was building my freelance career in Canada’s incredibly competitive music scene, I was also managing one of the busiest optical shops on Queen St West in Toronto. I never planned for the optical world to become such a big part of my life—it was just a way to make some extra cash. But when the pandemic hit in 2020 and forced me to stop performing, I found myself reevaluating everything. I decided to get creative again and explore a new path. That’s when I began my eyewear journey in 2021, traveling to Oyonnax, France—the heart of acetate eyewear manufacturing. From there, I shifted gears and threw myself into becoming an eyewear designer and maker.
